Sweet Memories

G'ma A was a very practical woman.  For birthdays her grandkids often would get a box of their favorite cereal and as they got older and on their own the gifts changed to T.P., laundry soap, and dish detergent. (Key ingredients to run a successful household :) As her grandkids became parents diapers were the next practical thing on the list and believe me any parent is more than thrilled at getting "free" diapers!  It was always special to see what gifts would be given for birthdays or Christmas.

Well, the other day I was given a G'ma A gift.  In the process of cleaning out G'ma A's house my mother-in-law came across these...
Pampers size 5

My mother-in-law thought Liesel might fit them.  Little did she know that, that was the exact size Liesel was now wearing.

I'll admit when I opened the package yesterday to use the diapers I cried.  That package of diapers brought back so many sweet memories of dear G'ma A and oh how I wish Liesel could have know her G'ma A for longer.  They would of had so much fun driving around on the golf cart and picking berries in the garden etc.  My prayer is that one day Liesel will get to meet her Great G'ma A and spend eternity with her.

Oh who would have thought a simple package of diapers could bring up so many emotions!  We sure love and miss you G'ma A!

Gone to be with Jesus!

Grandma A with her 2 great-grandchildren

Only a few hours ago a dear, sweet lady went to be with Jesus.  She left her earthly home and has made her entrance in to heaven.  Grandma A  passed away this morning.  She's no longer in any pain but rejoicing in the presences of her Savior.  She is visiting with her dear husband and other friends and family members who have passed on before her.  Oh but it is still hard for those of us left behind.  Goodbyes aren't easy but there is comfort in knowing we will see her again and to know she is in a much better place.

What a sweet women Grandma A was and I only had the privilege of knowing her for a few short years yet there is so much I have learned and observed from her.  She was an amazing women and we all are going to miss her greatly!
