My Husband's Father's Day Gift....

So the kids gave my DH two boxes of duplos for Father's Day and everyone is loving them!  Every evening my DH and kiddos spent time on the floor building something new.  We've had castles, animals, trees, cars, helicopters, and the list goes on.  My hubby told me last night that we need to get some more!  I think it liked his gift! :)

"We Interrupt this Marriage to bring you...Hunting Season."

This was a quote my cousin and I found at a sticker store.  When we both saw it all we could do was look at each other and laugh.  YES both of our husbands are hunters and NO they're not that bad but I think both of us have felt that way just a slight bit by the end of hunting season.  Fortunately hunting season only last about 2 months but I know many wives are glad when it comes to an end.

Don't get me wrong we love that our husbands can get out and go hunt and even better when they are successful and the freezer is full for the next year but there is a slight bit of truth to the above saying!  At times it seems like every extra moment (remember this is the wife's view) is devoted to hunting.

I guess I better be careful because my husband got me a deer tag this year so I'll one of those people giving up relaxing weekend mornings and quiet evenings to go hunting.  At least I'll be able to spend sometime with my DH even though I've learned that involves sitting (aka not a talking time) quietly and scouting for deer. Hey I'm learning!

In all serious I (and my dear cousin) wish our hunting husbands the best of luck this season and just know we'll survive the season! ;)

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Wow, Sweetheart it sure is hard to believe that 2 years ago today we were married! So much can happen in such a short time.
~Four years ago we didn't each other really existed (but boy we were sure hoping the other one did exist).
~Three years ago we just had met each other and were sort of, kinda, possibly interested in each other. Or at least we were willing to take the risk to get to know each other since we liked what we had seen in each other.
~Two years ago we gathered with many friends and family members to vow before God our commitment of love and marriage to one another and that nothing but death would break that. Our journey as a married couple began!
~One year ago we celebrated our first year of marriage. But not only were we getting use to married life (and both enjoying it) but we add an 11 year old boy to the mix 9 months into our marriage.
~Now we are celebrating our 2nd year of marriage and there are still more changes on the wind. The biggest one that we know about is the upcoming birth of our daughter less than a month and a half away.
As crazy as this all might seem we can say with great confidences that this has all been directed by God's hand!

I sure love you and can't tell you how blessed I am to be your wife. God truly gave me a gift when He brought you into my life! I can only thank Him and pray that I can be the Godly wife you deserve!

I'll have to share more about how he surprised me later but for now I wanted to show you my wonderful gift! I sure have a thoughtful, sweet husband!!!

Very Thoughtful

I have to say I think I have an absolutely wonderful husband. Now I know that I'm somewhat bias but I know that there are many around that know him that would agree!

This is just a small example of his thoughtfulness. I had been a little down on Friday. With so many changes (getting married, moving etc.) it shouldn't be to big of a surprise. When talking on the phone during the day with my DH, he was very good at reminding me that it is going to be a process. Fast forward to Saturday afternoon. DH and I had been working on cleaning out the basement and getting the trash ready for the dump. I needed to use the restroom so I ran inside to the bathroom and look what I found there!!

My dear, sweet husband surprised me with some flowers and kisses! He is such a wonderfully thoughtful guy and very creative! (I'm not saying that my DH has to do these types of things to be a wonderful guy-He already is a wonderful guy-it's just a little something that he did that proved to me even more his wonderfulness!) I am sure blessed to have him as my husband!!
