Liesel at One Week

Liesel is now one week old! We went for her 1st doctor's visit and she now weighs 6lbs 12oz. I was a little worried that she wasn't eating enought but her weight proves me wrong!

Here's a little video of her in action. It's not the best as it was taken on my camera but I thought you would enjoy it anyways!

Rodeo

Several weekends ago my DH, JB, and I attended a local rodeo. We had a wonderful time and I thought I would share with you a video I got of one of the most exciting bull rides we witnessed at the rodeo. Honestly I don't know how I ended up capturing this ride out of all the rides we saw but I did! (Disclaimer: I personally don't think riding bulls is the smartest thing in the world to do and I don't recommend it. I think the guys are a little on the crazy side.)

I will have you know the guy walked away fine though I'm sure he had some good bruises, etc but he never showed it. I, myself must of had a strange/concerned expression on my face because the announcer came over to where we were seated and asked me if I was okay! I should have told him that's one way to start a woman's labor! (Don't worry I haven't started yet. :)

Baby Dresser and Changing Station

One of my dilemma has been what to do about a dresser and changing table. The baby's room isn't that big so between the crib, rocking chair, bookshelf, dresser, and changing table I wasn't sure where it was all going to fit. Because of the space issue I decided that we needed to do a dresser/changing table combination. Well, if you buy new it's a little on the spendy side so I was on the look out for used dresser. As time has continued to get closer for the little ones arrival I'll admit I was starting to get stressed. But between a conversation with my DH and my mother-in-law the problem was soon solved.

One of the closets has a shelf in it that is just the right height for a changing table and the bottom half fits plastic drawers just perfect. So instead of having to fit all the furniture into a little room I've put part of it in the closet and the best part is, I can close the doors.

(I'm also thinking of hanging a mobile above the changing area so there will some color and distraction for baby while she's getting her diaper changed. :)

Snaps in the Dryer

It was funny but as I was sitting paying my bills, I kept wondering why I was hearing so much clatter from the dryer!? What in the world did I put in there that would make so much noise? And then it dawned on me...baby snaps from onesies!

I recall mom mentioning way back when, how snaps did a number to the inside of her dryer. Hmm I'm going to have to remember that and do a better job of snapping the snaps before I put baby's clothes in the dryer. Strange how different sounds bring back memories!

Okay back to Monday chores! :)

Pictures of the Baby's Room

Here are some pictures of the completed quilt on the crib.

Here you can kindof see the dust ruffle that I finished today. It's yellow gingham.

This is my great-grandma's quilt that I copied the baby quilt from.

Here are the curtains that my mother-in-law worked on. This pictures was taken before I put all the shower gifts away and put the crib up.

I'm still putting the final touches on the baby's room so I'll post more pictures once I get it all put together! :)

Baby Update

Well, we're at 37 1/2 weeks and still going strong. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and she said everything looked good not to mention the baby dropped and I'm already 2 cm dilated. So what does that mean? Well, it means we just continue to wait. Baby could decide to come at anytime or hold out for another few weeks. I think the doctor is thinking this little girl may come a little early but we'll just have to wait and see! (I guess that means I should pack my hospital bag! :) I'll keep you posted of any change! Meanwhile I'm working to finish up the crib dust ruffle and wash all the new clothes our little one received.
