Helpful (Free) Household Planner

Amidst all the sickness that my family went through in January I did come across a really neat daily household organization guide that I have found most helpful. I'm a list person and always get more done if I make a list and then can check it off.  This organizer that I have found has been very beneficial to me (and my family) and in a way takes the daily/weekly thinking of what tasks to do and lets the organizer do it for me.  It helps me stay focused and the nice thing is, if I'm gone a day and don't get it done then I know it will show up again in a later week to do.  For me its been a wonderful tool to help me run a better household. Just had to share! :)  Plus its free!

The Nursery

It has taken me awhile to get the nursery put together for the kids.  I wasn't sure how or what to do to combine both a girl and boy look.  Fortunately  the curtains are yellow and I've been able to tie in Isaiah's quilt with that but as to the wall decorations I wasn't sure what to do.  I had bought two beautiful painted bird pictures from a friend of ours (which I love) but still need to get them frame etc so I haven't put them up.

When I was at a thrift store a few weeks ago I found five framed pictures of the Old-Fashion Winnie the Pooh.  As soon as I saw them I feel in love with them and got them.

I figured these are the perfect solution for now and when the kids get older and are in different rooms I'll put the other pictures up.  Hopefully by then I'll have the pictures framed! :)

Here's what their room looks like now.  (I'm planning on putting a photo collage above the dresser.)

Baby Dresser and Changing Station

One of my dilemma has been what to do about a dresser and changing table. The baby's room isn't that big so between the crib, rocking chair, bookshelf, dresser, and changing table I wasn't sure where it was all going to fit. Because of the space issue I decided that we needed to do a dresser/changing table combination. Well, if you buy new it's a little on the spendy side so I was on the look out for used dresser. As time has continued to get closer for the little ones arrival I'll admit I was starting to get stressed. But between a conversation with my DH and my mother-in-law the problem was soon solved.

One of the closets has a shelf in it that is just the right height for a changing table and the bottom half fits plastic drawers just perfect. So instead of having to fit all the furniture into a little room I've put part of it in the closet and the best part is, I can close the doors.

(I'm also thinking of hanging a mobile above the changing area so there will some color and distraction for baby while she's getting her diaper changed. :)
