Leaves, leaves and more leaves

Its one of those things that I have a love/hard relationships with.

These two trees produce an amazing amount of leaves.

One can rake one day and the next come out and find just as many, if not more leaves then the day before!

I'll admit it can be rather depressing at times. If it wasn't for the fact that they kill the grass I think I would leave them there. They are quite pretty on the ground.

My little helper!

And then there's these little creatures.

It's not until moving up here that I have formed a great distaste for these rodents! At the present moment they have made our new grass their local underground freeway.

And as you can see they know how to avoid the traps we set for them! I have a feeling they may have eaten all the new bulbs I planted this fall.

Dear L, I have Magnolia leaves in the front yard that I rake up every-other day. Now it is dropping the pods with the red seeds. In the backyard I get leaves from the neighbor's walnut tree. Don't mind because in the summer I benefit from the shade it creates. Love Grandma G
